The New Hope-Solebury School District has an anticipated opening for Transportation Manager.
The Transportation Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the administration and operation of the New Hope-Solebury School District students' transportation. Qualifications for this position include experience in a leadership role of a Transportation Department in a Pennsylvania School District as well as experience with computer-based route planning and related software. A Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
Responsibilities include:
Supervising all employees of the Transportation Department including bus drivers, van drivers and bus monitors.
Maintaining safety standards in conformance with state and insurance regulations.
Overseeing all transportation schedules for the school year and extended school year including extracurricular and field trips.
Identifying cost savings opportunities and policy change recommendations and implementation upon approval.
Assisting in the annual Transportation budget.
Identifying new technologies that would enhance the customer experience for our District (bus tracking, student tracking, cameras).
Establishing strong communication channels with all constituencies affected by student transportation including District administrators, School Board, families and independent contractors.
Ensuring the safety needs of all students.
Ensuring prompt and appropriate responses to complains and special inquiries from parents and staff members.
Analyzing school bus accident data collected to identify accident trends and recommend specific training to minimize accidents and liability for the District.
Working with parents and district personnel to resolve student behavioral problems and their special requirements.
Submitting all reports required by authorities including state reports for reimbursement.
Making trransportation related decisions and arrangements in the event of emergency school closings.
Assuming all other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Chief Financial Officer and Superintendent.
The anticipated start date is no later than July 1, 2023.
Salary will be regionally competitive and commensurate with experience.
