Summary:


The Inventory Control Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of workers concerned with ordering, receiving, storing, inventorying, issuing, and shipping materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and parts in stockroom, warehouse, or yard in one or multiple accounts.


Job Duties: -




Plans layout of stockroom, warehouse, and other storage areas, considering turnover, size, weight, and related factors of items stored


Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies


Supervises employees through staff development, assigning duties and examining work to ensure compliance of the organizations policies, procedures and applicable laws; manages labor hours and payroll in electronic timekeeping system


Advises employees on care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped; methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining, and shipping stock; and related problems


Reports inventory accuracy percentage per requirement to appropriate leadership


Sets cycle counts of inventory, researches and clears any discrepancies


Recommends process improvements within the warehouse or distribution center which will improve accuracy of inventory and/or productivity


Reviews daily reports and ensure completion of key tasks designed to keep an accurate inventory and ensuring team understands and works toward performance goals


Reviews records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures, recommends remedial actions for reported non-usable, slow moving, and excess stock, provides information to customer


Prepares work schedules for special projects and periodic inventories, and reacts quickly and effectively regarding unexpected labor needs


Prepares composite reports from individual reports of teammates


For food accounts, incumbent is responsible to report food safety problems to senior management to initiate action

Requirements:



High school diploma or GED (general education diploma) equivalency


Minimum 3 years related experience and/or training


Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience preferred


Experience with warehouse equipment


Experience with warehouse management systems


PC literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel





Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manual


Ability to write routine reports and correspondence


Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form



Environment:


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. The employee is regularly exposed to ambient lighting and temperate climate conditions.
