Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Crossing Guard to ensure the safety of pedestrians, especially children, at designated crossings near schools or busy intersections.
Duties:
- Safely guide pedestrians across streets, stopping traffic when necessary
- Monitor and enforce traffic laws and pedestrian safety regulations
- Assist children in safely crossing streets on their way to and from school
- Communicate effectively with drivers, pedestrians, and school staff
- Report any incidents or hazards to appropriate authorities promptly
- Maintain a visible presence to deter unsafe behaviors
Requirements:
- Knowledge of OSHA safety guidelines
- First aid and CPR certification preferred but not required
- Familiarity with compliance management related to pedestrian safety
- Understanding of EPA regulations for safe outdoor environments
- Ability to recognize and respond to vital signs in case of emergencies
- Strong communication skills to interact with diverse individuals effectively
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations for handling sensitive information
