The Department of Teacher Education at Rider University seeks an adjunct instructor of special education for the Spring 2024 semester beginning January 22, 2024. This position is to teach SPE 300: Inclusive Practices for General Education Teachers.
Position Requirements
Education & Expertise in inclusive practice
graduate degree in special education, inclusive education or related field
Demonstrated knowledge of evidence-based strategies to support with mild to severe disabilities in general education settings
Demonstrated teaching experience in the educational setting supporting students with disabilities in the general education classroom
Demonstrated knowledge of co-teaching practices and models
Demonstrated ability to develop and support for inclusive and special education field sites as needed for course requirements
Demonstrated knowledge of current issues in special education and inclusive practice
Availability to teach on campus, Monday and Wednesdays 1:10 to 2:40pm.
Position Preferred Qualifications/Experience
Experience as an instructor in higher education
Experience teaching at the college level with teacher candidates
Expertise in inclusive practice in elementary and secondary schools.
