The Unit Clerk is responsible for the Clerical and Administrative duties of the medical unit, organizing tasks with and providing administrative assitance for the nurses and physicians, and maintaining the stock and distribution of medical supplies.
Job requires heavy phone & computer skills, great customer service and the ability to remain organized while multitasking in the fast paced healthcare environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills necessary.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Answer phones, take, and deliver messages.
Greet guests & vendors, assist family members with inquiries and requests.
Generate reports, draft memos, emails, and other documents.
Coordinate resident appointments and arrange transportation.
File and organize charts.
Assist to develop and maintain desired inventory of medical supplies.
Coordinate with Nursing and Admissions for the ordering of supplies and equipment needed at resident admission and discharge.
Oversee the distribution of medical supplies, anticipating stock needed for weekends, holidays, and emergency scenarios.
Maintain neat and tidy nursing station.
Protect confidentiality of private medical information.
Provide support and coverage for frontdesk administrative staff.
