Secretary Administrative Assistant Wound Care Ctr-Monroe
The Secretary Administrative Assistant will:
Compose and type correspondence, memos and reports
Manage calendars
Answer phones
Receive and screen visitors to the department
Take minutes during meetings
Manage expenses, ordering supplies, special requests for equipment for the department Assisting with special projects
Plan and organize workload to ensure established priorities are met
Requirements:
Ability to read and write well enough to type, edit and proof business correspondence and prepare reports. Three (3) years related secretarial work experience preferred. (60 WPM required).
Must be able to accurately and efficiently record and type dictation involving a normal range of business vocabulary or a limited and recurring range of special terminology; normally acquired through completion of a secretarial science program.
Work requires a comprehensive understanding of department/unit policies, procedures and operations in order to assume non-complex administrative details such as arranging meetings and conferences, answering routine questions from callers and visitors, and assembling background information, normally acquired in nine to twelve months or related experience with the Hospital. Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively and courteously (up to 90% of work time) with a diverse group of internal callers, patients and visitors, as well as a limited number of external contacts.
Typing and proofing requires the ability to read and concentrate; up to 50% of work time.
Requires one (1) week or less of break-in time to become familiar with Hospital/Department policies and procedures.
Generally sedentary work but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of work time.
